Alaska Adventure

DVD REVIEW

The Alaskan Adventure & Fishing Guide DVD presents an entertaining and informative tour of some of Alaska's hottest fishing spots. It shows the tactics and strategies used by some of Alaska's best professional fisherman. Each segment on the DVD brings the viewer to the unique location of each lodge, charter, and guide service. These locations are found across the state of Alaska and the viewer gets to see what real Alaska adventure can be. It gives a unique opportunity to meet the guides and lodge owners and learn first hand about the quality lodging and to see experienced guides in action bringing their clients to incomparable fishing. A high quality guide is a combination of many things. The Alaskan Adventure & Fishing Guide DVD gives you the rare chance to see these guides in action. If you are planning a trip to Alaska, you will come across many claims about what fishing should be. Here is a chance to see and judge for yourself. Mark Twain said it best, "Don't tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish."

It is hard to judge what type of location, lodge or charter is the right fit for you, and often it is easy to get side tracked by eye candy and pictures on flyers or web sites of giant fish. We spent a couple of days with each of the guides and lodges that are highlighted on the DVD. For us to film good video, the guides had to show that they could produce day after day. Although the quality of the catch is important, the quality of the experience is just as important.

Enough people come to Alaska, to make almost any roadside fishing unbearable. The dream of catching the biggest fish of your life can be squashed by the realization that all the parking spots are taken and you can't get down to the river. To escape the crowds on your own is to venture into the last frontier. However, it does take the right equipment and years of experience to be safe in the Alaskan wild and this again is where guide selection is extremely important.

If you come to Alaska and stay at one of the featured lodges in the DVD, or use one of these charters or guides, Alaskan Adventure and Fishing Guide DVD receives no kickback or remuneration. We wanted to make a guide DVD to help people fulfill their Alaskan dream vacation. While every person has different tastes, most people don't travel over three thousand miles to stand in line for a fishing hole. The fishing can be so good in Alaska that people who do not have a boat or access to private land can spend more time waiting in line for a fishing spot, than the actual amount of time it takes to catch their limit. For most people, the idea of being "elbow to elbow" and suffering the other adversities of "combat fishing" is not that enjoyable. For some, the definition of fishing goes beyond the action of just wetting a line. For many, the true definition of fishing is the dual pursuit of the fish and the relaxation of the spirit. There is, of course the bonding of family and friends in Alaska's s scenic outdoors- another important addition to your fishing creel.
